Experiment Design

To validate the solution, I defined clear success criteria:

  • Increased filter interaction rate
  • Improved session duration
  • Higher repeat usage within 7 days
  • Better task success in editing flows (find → preview → apply)

A/B Testing Approach

Two variants were tested:

  • Control: existing filter access flow
  • Variant: simplified and more visible filter entry points

Additional Validation

  • Usability checks on the prototype to confirm clarity of the new entry point
  • Session flow review to ensure users could preview filters without extra effort
Validation plan and projected churn reduction after implementation.

Results

The test variant showed:

  • Higher filter engagement
  • Improved session depth
  • Positive behavioral signals indicating better activation

This confirmed that discoverability—not feature quality—was the bottleneck.
